Pencils work fine in the rain, but we suggest the use of one of the All-Weather click-style pens. These pens work in temperatures from -30° F to +250° F (that's a little hot for some of us!) and will even work upside down. Standard A-W pens have a plastic barrel. Metal Pen has a steel barrel to stand up to the really rough conditions!
