General Information

Q: Do you publish, sell, or rent any of my personal information?

A: No, Sinclair International, Inc. has never sold or rented personal information to any vendor or agency. That information is provided to us so that we can complete your orders and contact you regarding any problems or product availability. We will not betray your confidence.

Q: What hours are your phone lines open?

A: Our phone lines are currently open on Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. On Saturday, we are open from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. We are located in the Eastern Standard Time Zone. Indiana, where we are located does not participate in Daylight Savings Time. For example, even though New York City is in the same time zone, we are 1 hour behind them when they switch to Daylight Savings time.

Q: How are backordered items handled?

A: We will pay the shipping costs on backordered items except for primers, and powder. On primers, and powder that you wish to backorder, we will charge you our flat rate shipping charge when they are shipped.

Q: I am going to be in Indiana and I wanted to know if you have a store that I can visit?

A: We do not have a store, but we do have a retail counter in our warehouse where customers will stop by to pick up items. Generally, any item in our catalog is available over the retail counter.

Q: Do you have a list of Sinclair dealers in my country?

A: We are working on a list for each country and will add that file to this site when available.

Q: If I am ordering from outside of the United States, do I need an import permit?

A: Each country has different requirements for importing firearm related items. General items do not usually need an import permit. Some items in various countries have different requirements such as; triggers, barrels, receivers, sights, scopes, brass, bullets, gun parts, stocks, etc. Some items require serial numbers such as barrels. Please investigate the specific requirements for your country.

Shipping

Q: How much is shipping in the United States?

A: We have a flat rate of $9.25 that applies to almost all orders within the continental United States. Next Day Air, 2nd Day Air, or Three Day Air are available at the actual shipping costs charged to us by UPS. Orders shipped to Hawaii or Alaska will be sent via United States Postal Service - Priority Mail (unless requested otherwise) and are subject to additional shipping charges. Hazmat charges by UPS are currently $20.00 and apply to all orders containing primers or powder.

Q: How are most orders shipped in the United States?

A: Most orders within the United States are shipped via UPS Ground unless an alternative method is selected. We use the United States Postal Service for lightweight packages, which would include some backorders.

Q: Can I have bullets, brass, and/or primers shipped overseas?

A: Yes, but you might need some paperwork -  Exportation requirements for all International Customers

The US Customs Service is requiring an export permit for all orders that include bullets, brass, scopes to certain Countries, and gun parts  (rifles, actions, triggers, trigger guard assemblies, barrels, stocks, firing pins, firing pin springs, buttplates, etc.) shipping from the United States.  We must apply for and receive these export permits through The US Department of State.  This takes approximately 6 weeks for approval.  

Sinclair International, Inc. will submit your request for an export permit under our exporting license and forward the requested items to you by the US Postal Service, UPS and DHL no longer accept shipments with the licensed contents.  We must have an original or certified copy of your import permit along with an English translation of the permit and your signed order for approval.  If your country does not require an Import Permit to bring these items into your country, you can submit a letter stating this on your own letterhead and it must be signed by you.  Your order must include your name, address, shipping address (if different) along with the description and cost of the permit items.  These documents are to be sent through the mail as the Department of State will not accept faxed or e-mailed documents. 

Due to the paperwork and labor hours involved with applying for the export permits, a licensing fee of $20.00 will be applied to each order.  The licensing fee will cover these costs as well as the packaging, handling and coordination of the shipment through the United States Postal Service.  The above export fees are only for those items that require a permit to ship and not the items that do not require a permit to ship.

Q: If I have an order shipped overseas, how will it ship?

A: We have the ability to ship by US Postal Service (air or surface), United Parcel Service (UPS), Federal Express, DHL, and others. Our preferred method of shipment is UPS but we occasionally use the Postal Service. We have lost a lot of packages recently due to problems with some of the postal contractors currently in service throughout Europe. We usually will ship by the carrier of choice by the customer.

Q: How much will my order cost to be shipped overseas?

A: We try to advise you on the best carrier for the best price. A lot depends on how fast you need the items. We can quote approximate shipping rates on orders for various shippers and for different service levels. Please request a shipping quote by e-mail or fax before placing your order.

Q: How long will my order take to get to me?

A: For orders delivered in the United States, we try to get your package out the door within one to two work days. Depending on the area of the country you live in, most customers will see their orders within 2 to 5 working days. For overseas orders, generally you can expect a couple of days to process normal orders unless we are waiting on a backordered item so as to ship your order complete. Some guidelines for shipping times overseas:

UPS 5 to 7 days
Postal Service - Air 15 to 20 days
Postal Service - Surface 30 to 45 days

Q: What products cannot be shipped via UPS Next Day Air, 2nd Day Air, or 3 Day Air?

A: We cannot ship powder, primers, aerosols, or rimfire ammunition through air services. They can only go by UPS Ground.

Q: Can I get primers and powder sent to me under a single UPS Hazardous charge?

A: Yes, you can get primers and powder sent under one UPS Hazardous charge. Quantities exceeding 40 pounds will require additional Hazardous charges.

Returns

Q: How do I return something?

A: We accept returns on items that have been purchased from us within the past 30 days. To return an item, fill out the return slip on the backside of your invoice that came with your order. Items must be in original packaging and in an unused condition. Please specify on the return form whether you are returning the item for an exchange or a refund. If it is for a refund, please include the credit card you want credited.

Q: I bought something from you a long time ago and never have used it. Can I return it?

A: We do not accept items that were purchased beyond a 30-day time period. Items are constantly modified by manufacturers or repackaged and it makes it almost impossible for us to resell them.

Q: Should I return a scope or trigger to Sinclair's for repair?

A: Scope manufacturers would like you to return all scopes directly to them for repair. This results in you getting your scope back quickly with no middleman communication problems. Triggers need to be looked at by the manufacturers for liability reasons.
