MDT’s all-aluminum chassis provides the precision long-range shooter with an ultra-stable platform for the Remington 700 action. The system is designed to eliminate warping and distortion of any kind, and positions the action so that it only makes contact on the V-shaped bedding block and at the recoil lug area to ensure consistent accuracy. Combines the accuracy of a benchrest rifle with the familiar ergonomics – and accessory mounting options - of the AR-15/M16 platform. Straight-line design directs recoil force directly to the rear, dramatically reducing muzzle rise and time to get back on target for follow-up shots. Barrels up to 1.350" can be free-floated within the forend, and the integral Picatinny rail above the receiver has 20 MOA built in to conserve scope elevation adjustment at longer ranges. In addition, the MDT chassis accepts any AR-style pistol grip, receiver extension, and buttstock, allowing the gun to be customized for different requirements or shooters quickly and easily. The bottom metal is configured for box magazines and converts the standard rifle to a drop magazine repeater. Short Action chassis accepts Accuracy International .223/.308 magazines; Long Action accepts Accurate-Mag long action magazines with 3.715" OAL. Does not work with Accuracy International .300 Win Mag magazines. Magazines are sold separately at Hardanodized, matte black finish. Approx. 3 lbs. (1.36kg) wt.
